Tuning in SAP (Second Audio Program)
In some areas, SAP is one (or the only) option for
receiving CRN. CRN is available 24
hours a day as the second audio program or SAP on many cable systems.
To access SAP on your television, you must have a stereo television or
VCR. While some models differ, the
following instructions should help you access SAP on your television.
- Turn
to the channel in which CRN is carried on SAP. A complete list of channel locations can be found on
this website.
- Look
at the remote control for your TV/VCR.
Locate the “SAP” button. On
some sets the “SAP” button may be called “MTS” or “Stereo.”
Press the button and continue to step 5.
- If
you cannot find any of these buttons, press the “menu” or “audio
options” button. The pull
down menu will appear on the screen and you will be lead to “SAP”
prompt. Select this option.
- All
televisions and VCR’s are different.
It may take a minute to discover where the SAP feature is located.
If you have trouble after following these directions consult your
owners manual.
- Once
you have found the SAP feature and activated it on your TV.
CRN’s audio will replace the audio that you were hearing on the
channel. The screen will not
change.
- Make
sure the volume is turned up, as some SAP audio feeds can be a little lower
than standard channels.
- To
deactivate SAP, simply press the SAP button again.
