CHARLIE BARRETT 

Foot-loose travel radio reporter and columnist Charlie Barrett, a former writer for  “The Hollywood Reporter” and one time NBC-TV media relations executive for “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”, is CRN’s Travel Editor. His wide-ranging travel reports are heard regularly on CABLE RADIO NETWORK’S “‘What Cookin’” among other radio shows. 

Charlie, who pens the monthly syndicated newspaper and magazine column GETAWAYS has traveled the world over reporting on destinations such as Shanghai, London, Palm Springs, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Paris and Nice, France; as well as Key Biscayne, Florida. He also talks about regional foods that are indigenous to the locales he reports on – be it in clam chowder on Cape Cod or tamales in Taxco.    

Occasionally Charlie interviews stars like Oscar winner Jack Nicholson, Ice Cube, Halle Berry   and Gene Hackman on their celebrity travel secrets and favorite eating-places.

 Charlie has authored special profiles on New England, California, Europe and Hawaii for magazines such as The Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, and Westways to mention just a few.
